Northern Lights

Description

Northern lights strain is my all time favorite strain. It’s a cross between two landrace strains, an Indica called Afghani and a Sativa called Thai. It’s rumored that it was first grown in Seattle, Washington. However, it was propagated in Holland after 1985. Since then, Northern Lights has become one of the most famous and awarded strains in the world.

The nugs are forest green with lavender highlights. It has an understated sweet aroma, but don’t let that fool you. It’s a heavy hitter. The terpenes I find most present are Pinene and Humulene. After the first hit, my palate was met with the sweet flavor of Pinene. Some strains have an overpowering taste, while Northern Lights has just the right amount of flavor. As I continued, I began to get the earthy aftertaste from Humulene, which is commonly found in indicas. At the beginning of my session, a feeling of relaxation and euphoria washed over me. All the tightness in my muscles began to release, but it didn’t give me that couch lock, spacey feeling. Instead, it set my mind free.
